I couldn’t find a single bit of it here, so that’s a bit disappointing.

It’s supposed to be a ‘verses’ film, and yet it’s more of a team-up film. Lupin III vs. Detective Conan was broadcast in Japan in 2009 which was over 6 years ago but as of 2015 US audiences were getting their first look at Lupin films from the early 90’s. It’s intense and brings back the nostalgia of the original series. It’s quite true to the original, so that makes it okay. Lupin later enters the vault of the building, and finds out that the crown has already been stolen by Fujiko. Lupin is Lupin, and you can’t change anything with him.

Of course, you can’t have a Lupin film without the supporting cast.

Especial Tv. Detective Conan is also an interesting character. After Conan and Kogoro have concluded their investigation, Conan tries to put Kogoro to sleep with a tranquilizer needle, but fails to hit Kogoro (who is actually Lupin in disguise), and hits Zenigata instead, who wakes up again after only a few seconds. All in all, this special does well in capturing the essence of Lupin the 3rd. This is a great match-up and they didn't have to change any of the characters to create the smooth flow of this film. … Its partner film, Lupin the 3rd vs. Detective Conan: The Movie, was released in 2013 so it’s practically brand new. Still, that’s the one problem with the story.
